1 John 2: 1-6

This Sunday, Pastor Ryan Navy continued our expository journey through 1 John, walking us through 1 John 2:1–6 and reminding us of the incredible hope we have in Jesus Christ.

We were challenged to remember that while God calls His people to pursue holiness, He also provides grace when we fail. Jesus is our Advocate—the One who stands on our behalf before the Father because of His finished work on the cross. Our salvation isn’t based on our perfection, but on Christ’s righteousness.

We also learned that genuine faith produces genuine obedience. We don’t obey God to earn His love—we obey because we know Him, love Him, and are being transformed by Him. As followers of Christ, our lives should increasingly reflect the One we claim to follow.

Let’s not be content with simply hearing God’s Word this week. Let’s walk in obedience, trust in His grace, and strive to live as Jesus lived.
