1 John 5: 1-21

This week, Pastor Travis took us through 1 John 5, reminding us of the confidence and assurance we have when our lives are rooted in Jesus.

John closes his letter by bringing us back to what matters most: faith, love, obedience, and the certainty of eternal life in Christ.

And John closes his letter with one short but powerful reminder:

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” — 1 John 5:21

Anything that begins to take the place in our hearts that belongs to Jesus deserves our repentance.

As we close out 1 John, may we hold tightly to what we’ve been reminded of again and again: Know Jesus. Believe in Jesus. Love like Jesus. Walk in obedience. And live with confidence that in Him, we have eternal life.
