1 John Recap
Over the past several weeks, we’ve walked verse by verse through the book of 1 John—and this Sunday, Pastor Ryan brought it all together with a powerful reminder of what it looks like to know Jesus and live like we belong to Him.
John’s message is clear: following Jesus isn’t simply about what we say we believe. A life changed by Jesus begins to look different. Throughout 1 John, we’ve been reminded that:
God is love — and because He loved us first, we are called to love one another.
God is light — so we don’t have to keep walking in darkness.
Jesus is our Savior — and our confidence is found in what He has done, not what we can accomplish.
Our faith should be visible — through obedience, love, truth, and the way we treat others.
We can have assurance — we don’t have to spend our lives wondering whether eternal life is ours. In Christ, we can know.
Maybe one of the greatest questions 1 John leaves us with is this:
Does the way I live reflect the Jesus I say I follow?
Not perfectly—but increasingly. We will never be sinless, but as Christian’s, we should sin less! As we walk with Him, His love changes us, His truth shapes us, and His life becomes visible through ours.
